Tales from the needle: Volume VI

April 29, 2016 by Soul On Ice in Tales from the needle

Tales from the Needle is a weekly series which will highlight people and their tattoos.  Some people have a favorite tat, their most memorable ink.  Some people put more emphasis on the needle from a tattoo gun penetrated their skin while others have one they wish they never put any ink on their body.

Every Friday, the blog will have a first-person story of a person and their tats of choice, using only images of their tats keeps the theme of this being a faceless site.  The images seen here will merely aid in bringing nuance to the numerous layers that compose the person.

Serenity prayer (left forearm): This tattoo was the third tattoo I ever got. I originally saw the prayer on a pamphlet or something, but I always thought it was a dope little mantra to say to yourself to deal with things you might not be able to explain or control. So I decided I wanted it in a very visible place that i could look at. I know the prayer is popular in drug rehab programs and shit, but I think it's useful for anybody in a moment of question. Don't do drugs tho.

Royal Flush (shoulder): Long and short of this story is I went to the casino, drank few jack and cokes, hit a marginal lick at the blackjack table and decided a royal flush hand is what I needed on my skin 2 hours later, even though it has nothing to do with blackjack. Blame dark liquor. The end.
